Version 2.6:
  • Updated footer area: Footer area updated for UI 2.0.
  • Updated Data Explorer Pages: Data Explorer Pages updated for UI 2.0.
  • Login requirement: Users need to log in to access the Choropleth map creator and Correlation Explorer tools.
  • New signup form: Includes a new column for Institutional Affiliation in place of the Project column.
  • Signup button: Added a new Signup Button on the homepage.
  • Material icon font files: Embedded Google fonts for Material icon font files removed; they are now local.

Version 2.5:
  • User Defined Missing Values. Introduced a new column named 'user_na_values' to both 'ds_dyadic_value' and 'ds_values' tables to accomodate two kinds of missing data.
  • Data Quality: Dimension One. Within the scope of the new Data Origin column, the user will be able to choose from three options, namely “Original CRC Data”, “CRC Compiled Data” and “3rd Party Data”.
  • Data Quality: Dimension Two. Within the scope of the new Plausibility Concerns column, the user will be able to choose from six options to determine the plausibility of the data.
  • Project B04 Policy field. The new policy field for project B04 has been added to the system's Data Navigation page.
  • New Design: Homepage. A partial implementation of the new homepage design changes has been implemented.
  • New Design: Publication page. The new design for Publication page has been implemented.
  • Performance: Dyadic data. Includes partial solution for the N+1 query problems in admin and user country groups and code refactoring for the Dyadic value table.

Version 2.1:
  • Correlation Analysis Tool. Take only the indicators you need and inspect linear relations between datasets based on Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient.
  • Visual Appearance. Improved UI elements, visualizations and addition of aggregated descriptive statistics based on your requests.
  • Team Page. Meet the people responsible for the development of WeSIS during the first phase of the CRC.
Version 2.0:
  • Improved Data Visualizations. A picture is worth a thousand words and a picture that is actually interpretable - even more! We improved all our visualizations on the Indicator page and now show only relevant (and bigger) plots for each scale.
  • Revamped Country Profiles. We updated the profiles with indicators you found to be the most important, and spiced up page with a nice visualization on the adoption of major social policy fields.
  • Custom Map Vis Creator. A Mollweide, Eckert IV, Gall-Peters, Hammer and Equal Earth projection walk into a bar. Except it’s not a bar, it’s WeSIS. And now the map you never knew you wanted is only one button click away. You can easily adjust the color scheme, map projection and center to your liking and download the resulting image.
  • Community Scripts and Resources. Want the world to know all about your interesting findings based on WeSIS data? Share your R-notebooks with us and we will add them to the Community Notebooks page.
  • Datasets Sharing. Now you can not only put all your favorites indicators into one dataset, but also make it available to other users. Simply tick the “make public” checkbox when compiling your dataset and it will be listed on the Datasets page. Better yet, you can also just share the URL of your public datasets with anyone you like.
Version 1.4:
  • Uploading N/A data. You want it, you got it! Uploading entries flagged as Not Applicable is now possible in WeSIS. For more information go to WeSISpedia.
  • TSCS export format. Now users can also choose the Time-Series Cross-Section format when exporting from the Data Explorer.
  • Redesigned Topic Browser. The new look of the Topic Browser now reflects information on subcategory levels, revealing the inner structure of Topics and simplifying the exploration process.
Version 1.3:
  • More data export options. Now WeSIS supports three different options for data export to choose from: long, wide and long + metadata. The options mentioned are only available on the Indicator page.
  • Simplified data search. Struggling to find any data in WeSIS? Struggle no more! Now not only the Data Explorer recognizes the indicators with data, but also in the Topic Browser all links to empty indicators are disabled.
  • Data filtering. Basic filtering and selection mechanisms introduced for explorative analysis on the Indicator page supporting all types of data.
Version 1.2:
  • Dyadic data upload. Are you ready to upload dyadic data? Because WeSIS is! Now users can validate, upload and view dyadic data in the Indicator pages.
  • Data coverage info. Find additional information on the availablity of data on the Homepage and Indicator pages.
  • Country groups. Tired of clicking to select all the countries in the Data Explorer? Now you can create custom country groups on your Profile page. Custom country groups are only visible to the user who created them and can be selected in the Data Explorer alongside the country list. The system already includes a set of country groups based on geographical regions available to all users.
Version 1.1:
  • Advanced file validations. Includes adding new checks concerning duplicate (country, year, indicator) triples.
  • Faster file upload. All valid files are uploaded to the server before you can finish spelling “Abracadabra”.
  • Raw data view. The additional column containing the raw datetime values can be revealed by clicking the [A] icon above all appropriate tables.
Version 1.0:
  • Input flow. When a researcher uploads a file, we validate the indicators according to WeSISpedia.
  • Country profiles. Choose a country and see the values of specific indicators for the selected year.
  • Data Explorer. You can explore the data saved in WeSIS by selecting specific indicators, countries and a year range.
